Mossjaw
The Rooted Wolf
An old wolf grown green with moss, so long in the pines that the forest grows through its hide. Usually the first boss a new hero meets.
Bestiary
Old beasts, drowned queens, frost giants and gods. The early ones you can take alone, if you’re careful. The later ones need a party.
World event
Not a boss, but the reason they all came. Stone that hears the Grey Song pushes up out of the ground and fights back: every time it cracks further, a fresh wave pours out. Break it for loot and the Stoneheart Shards the Runesmith needs.
The Rooted Wolf
An old wolf grown green with moss, so long in the pines that the forest grows through its hide. Usually the first boss a new hero meets.
Lord of the Far Fields
A boar the size of a hay cart. It charges in straight lines, and dodging sideways is half the fight.
She Below the Quarry
Whatever cracked the quarry open woke something in the dark. Her wisps come first; she follows them.
The White Howl
The great frost wolf that circles Jarnholm’s walls. Its pack fights with it, so bring friends.
Terror of the Vale
A one-eyed bear-wolf that has outlived every hunter sent for it. The vale’s last test before the frontier.
Queen of the Undertow
A sea serpent that drags fishing boats under and leaves the draugr to clean up.
The Moss King
A troll king with a crown of roots, who eats what the forest leaves behind.
Counter of the Frozen Dead
A frost giant on the highest peak, adding every fallen climber to his tally.
Spawn of Surt
A child of the fire giant, still burning with its father’s flame.
Hound of the Gate
The blood-chested hound chained at Helheim’s gate. It lets the dead in and nobody out.
The One-Handed
The first god on the Bifrost path, and the first real test of the heavens.
Watcher of the Bridge
He sees every step you take on the bridge and is waiting for you at the end of it.
The Thunderer
The Thunderer at the end of the Bifrost, and the last god of the main saga. Few parties have even seen him.
The Lantern-Keeper
He kept the bridge lamps lit for whoever came. Now he thinks every traveller is a thief of light.
The Aurora-Mother
She sang the northern lights as the gods’ cradle-song, until the song sang her tune back to her wrong.
The Star-Smith
He pulls the rivets out of the sky, forging the vault into one great falling weight.
The Sundered Sky
The vault of heaven itself, fought as dawn, dusk and the starless dark. The final fight in KAVOR.
